State Treasurer Rutherford holds press conference on state debt | News

PERRY COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford will hold a press conference to discuss state debt on Monday, May 23.

Rutherford will use the press conference to detail the state's debt in a clearer and more meaningful way. He says he will explain his position toward borrowing and debt..

The conference will be in the Capitol Blue Room in Springfield, Ill. at 1:30 p.m.

According to the office of Rutherford, Illinois is on the verge of a financial disaster because of borrowed dollars and other financial liabilities making the state's credit rating for future borrowing unaffordable and unwise.
