Storage unit catches fire in Du Quoin | News

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) - Some folks in Du Quoin say they're devastated after learning their belongings were destroyed in a storage unit fire Sunday.

Firefighters were called to a storage unit fire early Sunday morning in Du Quoin.

The fire took place a the Isom Storage Unit at 23 North Chestnut.

According to the owner of the facility this is the second fire in two days.

Firefighters were called at 12:16 a.m.

Crews had the fire contained by 12:28 a.m.

They were able to put out the fire within minutes but many of the items inside were still destroyed.

A couple of units caught fire, according to the fire department.

No word on the cause of the fire.
