PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Consolidated Grain and Barge Company is partnering with the Pinckneyville Fire Department and the Illinois Fire Service Institute to host a hands-on training session concerning grain bin safety.
This is in response to the rising number of grain bin entrapment incidents.
The training session will be held at the Consolidated Grain and Barge Facility at 207 West Ozburn Street in Pinckneyville on Saturday August 3 beginning at 8 a.m..
The session will cover grain engulfment, full grain bin opening and extraction, along with education on the dangers of augers and sweeps.
The session will begin with a classroom presentation that should last 2-3 hours, followed by a brief tour of the facility and then a hands-on demonstration of rescue tubes and other tools and equipment used in grain bin rescues.
