Man charged with DUI in Murphysboro facing more charges in Pinckneyville

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - Murphysboro police arrested a man Monday, March 4 after a traffic crash on North Second Street.

Joshua D. Bohm, 33 from Galesburg, Ill., was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving under the influence. He posted bond and was released.

Police say around 2:08 p.m. on Monday, they responded to a crash on North Second Street (Highway 127 North) near the intersection of Walnut Street.

They say Bohm was southbound on North Second Street approaching stopped traffic for the Walnut Street signal when he hit a car being driven by Steven Seiler, 22 from Mokena, Ill. in the rear.

Police say there was minor damage to Seiler's car. Bohm's car had major front and passenger damage.

During the investigation, Bohm was arrested  for DUI of alcohol. When police contacted the Pinckneyville Police Department, it was determined that Bohm had hit a parked car in Pinckneyville and fled the scene.

PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Two people face charges in connection with a meth lab bust.

Pinckneyville police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 154 at East Snowy Owl Road and found an active meth lab in the vehicle.

Jaime L. Ruffino, 35, is charged with manufacturing of methamphetamine or a substance that contained methamphetamine over 900 grams, a Class X felony.

Ruffino was taken to the Perry County Jail.

The Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Recovery Team was called to dismantle the lab.

The investigation continued to the Pinckneyville Inn where police arrested Corey D. Smelter for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pinckneyville Police Chief John Griffin says more charges are pending.

2 arrested for meth after traffic stop

PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Two men were arrested Friday on meth charges after police pulled them over for improper lane usage.

Adam Melvin, 24, of DuQuoin was charged with driving under the influence, unlawful possession of meth making materials and unlawful possession of meth.

Skyler Elder, 22, of Pinckneyville was charged with unlawful possession of meth making materials and unlawful possession of meth.

On Friday, July 13 Pinckneyville police stopped a car driven by Melviin for improper lane usage. Police say after a short investigation, both Melvin and Elder were arrested. They were taken to the Perry County Jail where they wait for their bonds to be set by a judge.

PINCKNEYVILLE AND MARION, IL (KFVS) - A Pinckneyville man and a Marion man were arrested Tuesday.

Matthew S. Prosutti, 32, of Pinckneyville was charged with battery.

Buck W. Towle, 31, of Marion was arrested and charged with wanted on warrant.

Pinckneyville Police responded to a incident on Virginia Court. They say after an investigation, they arrested Prosutti for battery and Towle for a warrant from Williamson County.

Both were takent to the Perry County Jail.

Two arrested after undercover drug operation near Chester bridge

PERRY COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Chester man and woman were arrested Monday, March 5 after an undercover drug operation by the Perry County Sheriff's Office near the Chester bridge.

Demetrius W. Martin, 34, and Ebony R. Chadwick were arrested and charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Chadwick was also charged with possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff's office says Martin and Chadwick were taken into custody after delivering 1/4 pound of marijuana to an undercover team. They were taken to the Perry County Jail.

Two arrested, charged after police found 438 grams of pot

PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Pinckneyville police arrest two Sunday, Feb. 5 on marijuana possession charges.

Richard A. Wilson, 30 of Anna, and Beth A. Steele, 21 of Pinckneyville, were arrested after police say they had over 438 grams of marijuana.

Both were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of look-alike substance and unlawful possession of look-alike substance with intent to distribute.

Police I.D. suspect in New Year's Eve armed robbery

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) - Police have named a suspect in a New Year’s Eve armed robbery case.

Du Quoin police say a man wandered into the Du Quoin police department in the early morning hours of December 31. Police say he’d been beaten and robbed.

Now police say an arrest warrant has been issued for Kenneth Snowden of St. Louis.

He has not been apprehended.

The victim was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital that morning.

No word on his condition.
