Community Easter Choir event March 27 in Pinckneyville

PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - The First Baptist Church will host a Community Easter Choir on Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m.

The following churches will be participating:

First Baptist Church
New Hope
Roes Dale Baptist Church
St. Bruno Catholic Church
St. Paul's United Church of Christ
Trinity Assembly
Trinity Lutheran Church
United Methodist

This year's concert will be a worship musical celebrating God's love, "Great I Am." It is arranged and orchestrated by David T. Clydesdale. The musical will include solos, narration and congregational singing. Different styles of worship music will be incorporated.

The First Baptist Church is located at 105 Mill Street in Pinckneyville.

City of Du Quoin lifts boil order for Peach St.

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) - As of Monday, March 25, the City of Du Quoin has lifted another boil water order.

The boil order was issued for Main to Poplar on Peach.

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS)- The city of Du Quoin has lifted a boil order customers from Reed to Main on Hickory Street.

Authority Water Superintendent Jeff Whitley says repair work was being done on the lines in these areas.

The city of Du Quoin thanks the customers for their cooperation.

John Mayer to entertain at Illinois State Fair

SPRINGFIELD, IL (KFVS) - Fair officials have announced that blues-rock musician John Mayer is schedule to perform at the 2013 Illinois State Fair in August.

American Idol champion Phillip Phillips will headline for Mayer at the Sunday, Aug. 11 concert.

Mayer, a Grammy award winner, is well known for hits like "Daughters," "Waiting on the World to Change," and "Say."

Tickets are priced form $40 for a Tier 3 seat to $65 for a VIPit pass. They go on sale Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000 or by visiting any Ticketmaster outlet.

The Fair begins Thursday, Aug. 8-Sunday, Aug. 18.
